Introducing QC’s new kicker

Let’s face it, if you are gambling on the NFL, you are looking for a reliable kicker.

This fall “Winnie the Weasel” will be doing the kicking every month in QuantCoach’s Eye: The Capitalist’s Sports Newsletter.

To my knowledge, Winnie is the first female sports cartoon kicker in journalism history. (“Kicker” is a slang term for an unexpected or surprising remark.)

Winnie is a member of the Otter Be Happy Studio family. She tells us that she was inspired to join the sports media by the careers of Phyllis George, Erin Andrews, Nanci “The Fabulous Sports Babe” Donnellan, and “Dirty Rat,” the sports cartoon kicker in so many of Jerry Dowling’s fabulous “Pen-Pourri” sports cartoons in the Cincinnati Enquirer in the 1970s and 1980s.
